Fortnite lands on 78.3m player count for August

Developer and publisher Epic Games has revealed that 78.3m people logged into Fortnite across all platforms in August alone.

In a blog post about its upcoming Skirmish event, the middleware and game maker said this was the biggest month on record for the survival-slash-battle royal title.

Epic doesn't give any indication as to how much of an increase this is on previous record-breaking months - this is hopefully something we can glean from SuperData's digital revenue figures for the game.

Additionally, Epic admitted that this player figure revealed weaknesses in the game, namely performance and spectating, which the company has been working on solutions for.
