Mini-game platform PlaysOut has raised $7 million in seed funding to bring its valuation to $70m.
The UAE-based company will use the funds to expand its mini-game ecosystem and foster new partnerships to grow its market presence.
PlaysOut said it aims to transform digital engagement by helping “super apps" integrate a vast library of mini-games, increasing revenue and user retention.
The funding round was led by OKX Ventures, KBW Ventures, and Kenetic Capital, with support from strategic investors like Pacific Century Group, Gam3Girl Ventures, Oak Grove Ventures, Aptos, and others.
New offerings
Last year, PlaysOut launched a new open platform using Tencent Cloud's mini-program framework to build content ecosystems. The partnership will allow the mini-game platform to leverage Tencent's expertise in mobile internet and gaming.
Operating like a "Steam for mini-games" or "Netflix for game catalogues," PlaysOut runs on a multi-engine compatibility and SDK tools for integration into high-traffic apps, letting brands tap into the growing mini-game market.
PlaysOut is set to launch its embedded SDK in May, aiming to simplify the integration of mini-games with blockchain technology.
