Roblox revenue grew to $1.04 billion, marking a 29% year-over-year increase as bookings reached $1.21bn, up 31% year-over-year.
That's according to the company's Q1 2025 financials, which showed that despite the strong growth in revenue and bookings, Roblox recorded a net loss of $215.1 million attributable to common stockholders and a consolidated net loss of $216.3m.
The company's adjusted EBITDA stood at $58m for Q1 2025, excluding a total net change in deferred revenue and deferred cost of revenue of $147.1m.
Moreover, Roblox generated $443.9m in net cash from operating activities, marking an 86% increase year-over-year, while free cash flow surged 123% year-over-year to reach $426.5m.
The company ended the quarter with $4.51bn in cash, equivalents, and investments, and $3.5bn in net liquidity.
User growth
In Q1 2025, Roblox saw strong user growth with 97.8m average daily active users, up 26% year-over-year, and 20.2m average monthly unique payers, up 29%.
Roblox said users spent 21.7bn hours engaged on the platform, marking a 30% increase. The average bookings per DAU reached $12.34, a 4% year-over-year rise, while average bookings per monthly payer stood at $19.92.
The company noted that its Q1 2025 operating and free cash flow were positively impacted by the delay of a $30m developer payout, now expected in Q2 2025. Without the delay, operating cash flow would have been $413.9m and free cash flow $396.5m
“In Q1 2025, all of our results were above the guidance we provided on our Q4 2024 earnings call as we continue to deliver on several key growth initiatives," said Roblox CEO and founder David Baszucki.
“In addition to our focus on raw performance and quality, investments in the virtual economy and search and discovery are driving growth in platform monetisation, bookings, and creator earnings.
“During the quarter, Roblox creators earned a record $281.6 million and over the past 12 months, more than 100 Roblox developers earned over $1 million. As a whole, the community is on pace to exceed $1 billion of earnings for the full year."
