Mobile games company Spoilz has raised an undisclosed sum to expand its development and live ops capabilities.
The funding will also help Spoilz create globally competitive mobile games and expand its team by attracting top talent in Saudi Arabia.
In a previous announcement from the company, Spoilz said that the strategic funding will drive its mission to create “world-class" mobile games and nurture the next generation of Saudi developers, designers, and industry professionals.
Merak Capital and Impact46 led the round with participation from additional strategic investors.
“Major leap forward"
Spoilz was founded in 2020 by chief executive officer Musab Almalki. The developer has generated two million players globally and previously topped the App Store charts in six countries.
Alongside its own titles, Spoilz provides B2B and live ops services in the MENA region, offering market analysis, UI/UX, localisation, and player engagement solutions for partners in education, innovation, and entertainment.
The investment in Spoilz is part of Merak Capital’s gaming fund, created to grow Saudi studios and content creators by supporting culturally rooted IPs and globally scalable titles.
"This investment is a major leap forward for Spoilz," said Spoilz CEO and founder Musab Almalki. “We’re building more than games, we're building experiences that connect with everyday players while reflecting the creativity and identity of our region.
“With Merak Capital’s support, we’ll be able to level up our development pipeline, grow our live ops offering, and bring Saudi-born mobile games to the world stage."
