Supercell expands AI Innovation Lab to San Francisco

Supercell has expanded its AI Innovation Lab to San Francisco and is looking for a leader to spearhead its growth in the Bay Area.
The Brawl Stars developer looks to be increasingly bullish about the opportunities of AI and games. The company has hosted a pilot AI Innovation Lab in Helsinki and last year appointed Otto Söderlund as its AI lead.
The company is now betting on emerging AI technologies by opening a new location in San Francisco. It has also posted a new job vacancy for an AI Innovation Lab Program Leader to head up the project.
AI ambitions
Supercell said the ideal candidate will work closely with the company’s AI lead and other partners to shape and contribute to the programme’s vision and design.
They will be responsible for executing a pilot based on the Helsinki model and establishing a scalable, repeatable programme for long-term success.
“Over the past few months, I have been really energised from talking to leaders in gaming and in Al around the world," said Supercell CEO and co-founder Ilkka Paananen in a post.
“More recently, after spending a few hours at our pilot Al Innovation Lab in Helsinki, I was so excited that I couldn't sleep (seriously!). So I can't wait to see what we can do now that we will expand this program to the San Francisco area.
“This is an awesome role for an ambitious, entrepreneurial, hands-on builder who wants to help us revolutionise Supercell and our industry.”
