Ubisoft reveals new Asia mobile games deal as platform accounts for 22% of bookings in Q4

Ubisoft’s mobile division accounted for 22% of the publisher’s net bookings by platform in Q4 as its contribution to revenue rose significantly year-over-year.
During the same period the year prior, mobile accounted for just 4% of net bookings. For the full fiscal year, mobile represented 16%, compared to 6% the year prior.
Ubisoft didn’t provide any details on why its mobile division accounted for nearly a quarter of its bookings. It’s worth noting its big launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows was delayed until March 20th, which would likely have impacted sales reporting on other platforms. Console accounted for 35% of net bookings, down from 46%, while PC amounted to 38%, down from 44%.
The company has seen a recent rise in revenue for its mobile idle squad RPG Invincible: Guarding the Globe, based on the comic book and TV series.
According to AppMagic estimates, the title generated $5.1 million in gross revenue in the first three months of 2025. April represented a record month for the title, accumulating $4.3m from player spending. This pales in comparison to overall revenue of Ubisoft’s portfolio, however, which took €1.85bn ($2bn) in net bookings during the past financial year.
Mobile opportunity
Ubisoft has also teased details of a “new mobile opportunity” for one of its leading franchises with “strong expansion potential, notably in Asia”.
During an earnings call, CEO Yves Guillemot was questioned on the news but said he could not elaborate at this stage.
Ubisoft has close ties to Tencent in China, having recently received a $1.25bn investment from the publishing giant to form a new subsidiary, giving the embattled publisher access to funds as it looks to revive its fortunes. It’s already working with Tencent on mobile title Assassin’s Creed Jade.
