Not-for-profit organisation Women in Games has partnered with UKIE in a move that will see them collaborate on supporting and promoting greater representation of women in the UK games industry.

Planned joint initiatives include supporting career development for women in the sector and improving practices aimed at creating inclusive workplaces, hiring and development.

The partnership will also help provide networking, mentoring, and skills-building opportunities while advocating for policies that ensure gender diversity, fair pay, and equal opportunities across the sector.

Moreover, Women in Games and UKIE will explore joint research and policy advocacy to support women and aspiring professionals. The trade body is also sponsoring the Women in Games Careers, Development & Networking Expo on March 12th.

Creating a “long lasting change"

“Women in Games has long valued its strong relationship with UKIE, and this new Partnership Agreement marks a significant, public commitment to our shared mission of advancing gender diversity in the UK games industry," said Women in Games CEO Marie-Claire Isaaman.

“We fully support UKIE’s Supercharged Strategy and its three core campaigns: Elevating Games, Empowering Talent, and Energising Industry. Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not.

“We are thrilled to see Ukie making a bold, tangible commitment not only to our organisation but also to the women and girls we represent and advocate for."

UKIE CEO Nick Poole commented: “Through this partnership with Women in Games, we’re reinforcing our commitment to breaking down barriers, supporting career progression, and ensuring that women and girls can thrive in every part of our industry.

“With the relaunch of our Raise The Game initiative, we are strengthening our efforts to build a more inclusive industry where people from all backgrounds feel valued, supported, and able to succeed.

“The goal is to create real, lasting change that ensures the UK games sector is a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.”
