Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is now the fourth-biggest smartphone brand in India.
This is according to sales data from IDC which shows that Samsung is still the best selling manufacturer in the region, followed by Lenovo and India-based manufacturer Micromax.
This comes after a record-breaking period of sales with over 30 million smartphones shipped in India between July and September 2016.
Doubling up
Xiaomi itself saw its shipments double over the previous quarter. It holds 7.4% of the market, only 0.1% short of Micromax's market share.
The manufacturer sold 500,000 phones in just three days following two major sales in India. Xiaomi's India head claimed that "no other brand has ever achieved this in India".
