Direct-to-consumer platform Appcharge has expanded its executive team with new leadership hires in North America and South Korea.

Industry veteran Sean Megaw has been appointed as the company’s new director of business in North America.

He will play a key role in introducing Appcharge's technology and monetisation solutions to mobile publishers in the region. Megaw has been in the sector for over 25 years, with experiences at BioWare and Ubisoft before founding his own mobile game studios.

Appcharge has also tapped business development expert Jin Woo Hong as managing director in Korea.

With over a decade in business development, Hong previously led East Asia operations at Coda and prior to that worked as senior business development manager at Nexon Korea. He’s now  joined Appcharge to drive adoption of direct-to-consumer out-of-app payments in the East Asian country.

New offerings

“Sean’s deep understanding of monetising mobile games and Jin’s knowledge of the Korean mobile game market are unparalleled," said Appcharge CEO and co-founder Maor Sason.

“Their contributions towards making Appcharge the clear choice for publishers who want a direct relationship with their players is already astounding.

“We’ve seen rapid growth over the last months, as our product offering strongly resonates with more and more top-tier mobile game makers, and with Sean and Jin on our team, we can’t wait to be able to help more developers and publishers in North America and Korea take advantage of what we have to offer.”

Appcharge's expansion in its executive team comes three months after it raised $26 million in a Series A investment round to scale its web shop and third-party payment services.
