Direct-to-consumer platform Appcharge has launched a new web store solution called Payment Links.

Payment Links will allow iOS game developers to accept direct payments outside the App Store as a direct-to-consumer monetisation model.

Appcharge said Payment Links capitalises on recent U.S. court rulings that allow iOS publishers to direct players to external websites for purchases.

Moreover, developers can avoid platform fees and retain up to 95% of revenue.

“A broader movement"

“Payment Links are a fast, secure way to experiment with direct payments on iOS - while Appcharge handles the complexity behind the scenes," said Appcharge co-founder and general manager Roy Barassi in a blog post

“From tax and fraud to localised pricing and post-payment redirects, we do the heavy lifting so your team can stay focused on player experience.

He added: “This isn’t just a new tool - it’s part of a broader movement toward platform independence and long-term revenue control that we’ve been building for over the last two years."

The launch of Payment Links comes after Appcharge launched Live Store Sync in April, its publisher-triggered API that enables monetisation teams to update web stores across devices in real time.
