CyberAgent gears up for English-language launch of rhythm game BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!

CyberAgent-owned developer Craft Egg has revealed an English-language edition of its popular rhythm game BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! due to launch sometime in Spring 2018.

Co-developer Bushiroad is handling the localisation of the game. It has already started a pre-registration campaign and is running giveaway competitions on its social media channels to promote the game.

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! is a musical rhythm game based on the BanG Dream! Project series, which includes comics and live performances. An anime is already available in English on streaming service Crunchyroll.

Big in Japan

The game has achieved success in Japan, where it won a Player's Choice Award on Google Play and was a "top game" on the App Store.

In its first six months of release, the game accrued four million downloads in Japan alone. It was pushed to Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan shortly after surpassing this milestone in October 2017.

Despite its success, CyberAgent has experienced flat revenues for its last six quarters. The company is hoping to bring in some revenue through celebrating BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!'s first anniversary in March 2018.
