Krafton-backed Blue Ocean Games has launched Rising Tide #2, the second edition of its competition series aimed at discovering and funding emerging indie game developers.

Building on the success of Rising Tide #1 which secured investments for six projects, Rising Tide #2 introduces “In-Development” and “Idea-Only” tracks, along with new submission formats and prizes.

The In-Development track offers cash prizes and a chance to pitch for up to $300,000 in funding via Blue Ocean Games’ SAIL contract.

On the other hand, the Idea-Only track awards $1,000 for 12-month idea options, with potential $25,000 payouts and creative advisor roles - opening the door to non-traditional game creators like artists, storytellers, and gamers.

Opening doors

Rising Tide #2 introduces a new submission format requiring a 1-minute teaser and a 15-second social media–optimised video.

Submissions are now open, inviting indie developers and aspiring creators worldwide to apply.

“Rising Tide is about funding game creators at the earliest stages and pairing their ideas with real market validation through public voting,” said Blue Ocean Games founder and managing partner Damian Lee.

“By introducing two tracks and a more dynamic submission

process, we’re making it easier than ever for creators to share their visions, gain recognition, and potentially secure funding to bring their games to life.”
