Supercell and Maestro Media are collaborating on the first-ever Clash of Clans board game called Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid.

The project is expected to launch on Kickstarter this month in a brand-building expansion for Supercell’s IP. Early pledges will reward consumers with a bonus miniature depicting the Golden Barbarian King.

Raiding the board

Maestro Media’s past works adapting IPs include tabletop games and merchandise. The company has previously designed board games like Hello Kitty: Day at the Park, Disney’s Donald Duck Happy Camper and The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls.

Game designers Eric M. Lang and Ken Gruhl have developed the Clash of Clans board game, bringing experience from Star Wars: The Card Game, XCOM: The Board Game, Happy Salmon and more.

The Epic Raid is expected to offer a physical reimagining of Clash of Clans gameplay, with players building defences, deploying units and raiding others’ bases.

"Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid is a groundbreaking experience that brings the beloved universe to life like never before," said Maestro Media founder and CEO Javon Frazier.

"With the genius of legendary designers Eric Lang and Ken Gruhl and our incredible partnership with Supercell, we’ve crafted a game that will surprise and delight and will be a must-have tabletop adventure that captures the heart of Clash of Clans."

Supercell head of global licensing Andrea Fasulo commented: "We’ve always been passionate about creating memorable experiences for our players, and Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid is an exciting new chapter in that journey. Partnering with Maestro Media allows us to bring the strategy and excitement of Clash of Clans to life in a whole new way."

This Clash of Clans expansion follows shortly after Supercell’s latest mobile game launch, Mo.co, a title which has generated $2.5 million in under a month.
