Clear Angle Studios expands into South Africa via Robot Air partnership

3D capture and processing firm Clear Angle Studios has partnered with Cape Town-based scanning specialist Robot Air.

The strategic partnership marks Clear Angle Studios’ entry into Southern Africa, with plans to train local talent and establish a regional hub to support the growing film production industry.

The collaboration will leverage Robot Air’s local expertise and logistics to enable Clear Angle Studios to deploy its scanning tech and workflows directly in South Africa, removing logistical barriers for regional productions.

By merging global tech with local talent, the partnership offers streamlined access to premium 3D capture services in South Africa, covering characters, environments, props, and costumes - while benefiting from regional production incentives.

New opportunities 

Clear Angle Studios’ new partnership in South Africa will give local productions direct access to its full range of high-end services, including character, LiDAR, environment, prop, and costume scanning. 

This strategic expansion follows the launch of its Culver City studio in December 2024, which has already supported several major film and TV projects.

Clear Angle Studios is based in Pinewood and has previously served studios like Disney and Netflix. This new partnership allows the firm to expand into South Africa, adding to its global network of scanning hubs in London, LA, Atlanta, Vancouver, and Budapest.
