With two weeks to go until Pocket Gamer Connects Seattle commences on May 13th and runs to the 14th, we’re taking the opportunity to highlight the 10 tracks on offer at the event (plus there's also four tracks over on PC Connects).

In the build-up, we will be looking at one specific track daily to give you a better idea of what to expect.

Today we’re looking at East Meets West, which features the latest global trends from across the world with a particular focus on regions such as China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

May 13th

14:00 - JoyPac COO Allison Bilas will first arrive onstage with a session taking lessons from her experience of launching 10 plus hyper-casual games in China, while discussing the current trend that is sweeping through Asia as a whole.

14:20 - Next up, NetEase long-term VP Ken Li will host a talk on the current games industry scenario in China as well as the value a local publisher can provide.

14:40 - Steel Media’s own conference content producer Patty Toledo will be joined by Chorus Worldwide founder and CEO Shintaro Kanaoya for a fireside chat on the Japanese market. Chorus specialises in taking Western mobile titles to Asia.

15:00 - The first panel of the day will bring together six experts from around the globe to discuss all aspects of publishing in Asian markets. DigitalDevConnect founder Josh Burns will be joined by NetEase VP Ken Li, Nexon senior user acquisition manager Robert Garfinkle, Giant Interactive VP Bill Wang, Chorus Worldwide founder and CEO Shintaro Kanaoya, Mixi director Langer Lee and JoyPac senior publishing manager Falko Böcker.

15:40 - JetSynthesys VP of business development Scott Prather will then run a session on the growth of India as a development/services outsourcing region and the massive growth of mobile usage in the country.

16:00 - Interested in the South American market? Well, you won’t want to miss Pebblekick director of technology and game production Marcelo Serres’ overview on the subject.

16:20 - Maysalward founder and CEO Nour Khrais shall then present an overview of MENA markets, covering the past, present and future of mobile games.

16:40 - Rounding out the day, we have a panel on centred on future opportunities for developers. CVCapital managing director of digital entertainment Jim Ying, Scopely VP of corporate development Rob Ricca, IME Law managing partner Matthew Hooper, Hatch Entertainment VP of commercial partnerships, and Influence Mobile CEO Daniel Todd are all due to feature.

These sessions are from just one of the 10 tracks taking place at the show the year.
