Final Fantasy XIV Mobile launching this June in China

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIV Mobile is launching in China this June, two months earlier than expected.
As spotted by GameSpark, the June release has been confirmed in a teaser on Chinese video-sharing platform Bilibili.
The exact day Final Fantasy XIV Mobile will launch next month hasn’t been revealed. However, a June release window is earlier than anticipated compared to the Chinese App Store listing suggesting an August 29th, 2025 release.
"Specifically tailored" for mobile
While there are still no further details on Final Fantasy XIV Mobile’s global launch, the MMORPG is open for pre-registrations.
The mobile title is a recreation of 2013’s Final Fantasy XIV, a PC and console game which is still operational nearly 12 years later.
Tencent’s Lightspeed Studios approached the game’s producer and director Naoki Yoshida to suggest the mobile redesign, with development since taking place under Square Enix’s supervision.
Final Fantasy XIV Mobile is expected to operate separately from the standard Final Fantasy XIV, designed to be playable in shorter bursts.
At the same time, Lightspeed Studios has been working to ensure that the story, battle content and other aspects of the original are adapted "faithfully".

"As the next challenge for Final Fantasy XIV for the next 10 years, I am here to announce the development of the mobile version of FFXIV," Yoshida stated under the Bilibili post, translated by Google.
"The mobile version is the latest MMORPG fully adjusted and produced for mobile devices based on content from the endgame version."
The upcoming Chinese launch will follow shortly after Square Enix's latest financials, which partially attributed its net sales decline to "a familiar list of titles" dominating Japanese gamers’ time on mobile.
