Mobile games publisher and hybridcasual specialist Habby has invested $2 million into Istanbul-based developer Mavis Games.

The studio, founded in 2018, said it would use the funds to grow the team and accelerate its production and marketing capabilities to help scale its titles.

Mavis Games has previously collaborated with Habby and has released titles including Easy to Learn and Slide: Block Puzzle.

With its new investment, the studio now wants to “push the boundaries of what’s possible” in the casual games space.

The deal with Habby will also see its CEO Stefan Wang join Mavis Games’ board of directors.

Expansion plans

“This partnership is built on mutual trust, shared wins, and a clear vision of what’s next,” said Mavis Games CEO and founder Saygın Topatan.

“We have worked together for several years to bring huge success to our previous product, and we’ve learned  so much along the way. With this new chapter, we’re aiming even higher - to build games that aren’t just fun, but unforgettable.

“At Mavis, everyone is a superhero in their craft, with sharp creative focus. With this investment, we’re excited to welcome new talents into our team and push the boundaries of what’s possible in casual gaming to create long-lasting fun at global scale. ”

Wang commented: “Mavis Games’ title Slidey enabled Habby to establish a strong presence in the highly competitive gaming market.

“We’re inspired by the remarkable creativity and unwavering passion shown by its founder, Saygın. With a talented team now in place in Turkey, we are confident that Mavis Games will deliver exceptional new titles.”

Mavis Games is the latest in a long line of investment deals in Türkiye’s bustling games market. Other deals this year include TaleMonster Games’ $7m funding round, Boby.ai’s $1.25m investment, Good Job Games’ $23m raise, and more.

Mavis Games was previously a winner at the Big Indie Pitch at Pocket Gamer Connects Digital.
