Monopoly World developer Reality Games has raised £3.64 million ($4.7m) in a seed round.
The studio said it will use the funds to accelerate the development of its real-world Monopoly experience that's powered by AI and geolocation technology.
In addition to that, the company plans to expand Monopoly World into new markets after launching in Poland and the Philippines. It also aims to scale product development and broaden partnerships with global brands.
The funding comes from angel investors and strategic backers including angel investors, Unfold VC, and Acquinox.
Paving the road
Reality Games said that Monopoly World will be integrated with “real-world property ownership, AI-driven valuations, and interactive gameplay".
“This $4.7m seed round paves the way for Reality Games’ upcoming Series A, as we hope to reimagine Monopoly not just as a game but as a platform connecting players to real-world retail offers and experiences," said Reality Games CEO Zbigniew Woznowski.
The company is backed by industry veterans, including Peter Moore, former CEO of Liverpool FC and ex-COO of EA; Janusz Moneta, ex-VP of global ads marketing at Google; Nav Sunner, former head of legal at Codemasters; Yariv Adan, former Google AI product lead; and Mariusz Gasiewski, head of apps & games at Google in CEE.
