Pokemon GO was the top grossing mobile game worldwide in July 2016 and the most successful mobile game launch ever.
This is based SuperData Research's monthly digital games market report, which looks at the top grossing games of each month.
In second place for July 2016 was perennial hit Monster Strike, with MZ's super-hardcore strategy game Mobile Strike coming third.
Clash of cannibals
Supercell's Clash of Clans and Clash Royale took up fourth and fifth respectively, with SuperData blaming Clash Royale's cannibalisation of Clash of Clans' audience as the reason for their revenue drops.
Earlier this month, SuperData Research suggested that Clash Royale's monthly revenues had dropped to $62 million, almost half of what it was generating when it first launched.
That said, if it's still appearing in the top grossing charts for the month, it is at least outperforming other big-hitters like Game of War and Candy Crush Saga.
