Nintendo rebrands Warpstar as Nintendo Stars to spearhead its transmedia strategy

- The division aims to expand global awareness of Nintendo IP through new experiences and partnerships.

- A new Mario movie is slated for April 2026, with a live-action Zelda film arriving in May 2027.
- Nintendo Stars will also continue Warpstar’s work managing the Kirby franchise.
Nintendo has rebranded its Warpstar subsidiary as Nintendo Stars to bolster the company’s transmedia projects.
As reported by Game Developer, Nintendo made the announcement in a note to investors, which revealed that Nintendo Stars will oversee ancillary businesses related to its film projects.
This includes merchandising, licensing, and events to support the company's expanding movie slate.
“By implementing and licensing various ancillary uses in films, Nintendo Stars Inc. aims to familiarise people around the world with Nintendo IP and provide new ways to experience it," the company wrote.

Nintendo Stars will back the company’s Hollywood ambitions following the $1.35 billion success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
A new Mario film is scheduled for April 3rd, 2026, while a live-action Zelda movie is set to release on May 7th, 2027.
“In addition, Nintendo Stars Inc. will continue its ancillary-use business of the Kirby franchise, which Warpstar, Inc. has been engaged in," Nintendo added.
“By utilising the know-how cultivated in this business, Nintendo Stars Inc. aims to expand the number of people who have access to Nintendo IP through cooperation with partners around the world, and strengthen the relationship between Nintendo and its customers."
