PlayJam expands games platform to Vestel smart TVs and set-top boxes

Smart TV gaming platform PlayJam will now be available through Vestel's range of connected TVs and set-top boxes.
The Turkish-based electronics company will add the PlayJam Game Channel to its devices with front page visibility alongside on-demand video and music services.
Tuning in
Vestel, which manufactures 10 million TV sets and 10 million set-tops a year, joins companies such as Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic, and Western Digital who will support PlayJam in a major rollout in Q2 2012.
"Vestel's Smart TV solution delivers a wealth of content directly to the consumer via a rich and intuitive user-interface," said Vestel's head of marketing Hakan Kutlu.
"We are delighted to be working with PlayJam to further enhance this offering with a dedicated games-offering the whole family can enjoy."
On demand
PlayJam's recently launched beta development program is set to bring games from the likes of GameHouse, Slingo, Alawar, Playrix, Relentless, First Star, and Puzzler to Vestel smart TV devices starting Q2 2012.
"Smart TV is widely regarded as the fastest growing games platform today with 1.5 billion such devices expected to be in circulation by the close of 2015," said PlayJam's marketing and communications director Anthony Johnson.
"Our partnership with Vestel will significantly grow PlayJam's already considerable footprint on these devices and secure a smooth route to market for the game developer community."
