The Pokémon Company has formed a multi-year partnership with The LEGO Group to turn Pokémon into LEGO starting in 2026.

This will mark Pokémon’s first time in official LEGO form, with an initial teaser showcasing Pikachu’s tail made of bricks.

The Pokémon Company hopes that this will bring "the world of Pokémon to life in entirely new ways".

Gotta build ‘em all

The Pokémon franchise has become the latest in a series of Nintendo brands to partner with LEGO, following the likes of Mario, Animal Crossing and most recently, The Legend of Zelda.

Mario’s first LEGO theme was released in 2020 and became one of LEGO's "most successful theme launches", while the other IPs followed years later in 2024.

The price point for Pokémon LEGO hasn’t yet been revealed, but existing Nintendo products vary from a few dollars to hundreds. Whether sets focus more on large fan-favourite environments like Zelda’s Great Deku Tree set or on characters like Animal Crossing’s Stargazing with Celeste also remains to be seen.

"The LEGO Group and Pokémon have strong shared values of imagination, creativity and fun, making this the perfect partnership to deliver unique, meaningful and engaging ways for Trainers to experience the Pokémon brand," said The Pokémon Company International chief product and experience officer Gaku Susai.

"Working with the best-in-class team at the LEGO Group and seeing their dedication and passion for the project has culminated in an innovative and groundbreaking collaboration that will surprise and delight fans. We cannot wait to see both LEGO fans and the Pokémon community’s reactions in 2026."

LEGO Group chief product and marketing officer Julia Goldin added: "We are thrilled to be working with a brand that has such a deep and passionate fanbase as Pokémon, partnering to give our joint audiences what they have been asking us for.

"We strongly believe that through the endless possibilities of LEGO play and the exciting adventures the world of Pokémon brings, this partnership will create a range of new possibilities for Trainers and builders alike."

Of course, the Pokémon world has also been expanding to wider audiences via mobile games for a number of years, with an active library of six titles. Whether it's multi-billion maker Pokémon Go, smash-hit TCG Pocket or the upcoming seventh title Pokémon Champions, reaching more players in new ways is clearly a high priority for the series right now.
