Savvy Games Group and HP have wrapped up the GameOn GameJam in Saudi Arabia with a showcase finale in Riyadh.

The game jam challenged teams from universities across the Kingdom to design and build imaginative, story-driven games under the theme Innovation in Gaming and Sustainability.

The top three teams were:

  • Team Reesha - King AbdulAziz University
  • Team Firga - Taif University & University of Jeddah
  • Team Dreamdebuggers - University of Prince Mugrin

These winners will now join the Savvy Academy Incubator Programme in September 2025, a three-month journey offering mentorship, training, and entrepreneurial support in collaboration with Xsolla.

Spotlighting talent

The competition aligned with the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) and the National Gaming and Esports Strategy (NGES), demonstrating how games can inspire climate action and drive positive change.

The initiative was also hosted by HP Gaming Garage in partnership with Savvy and the Saudi Electronic University (SEU) to highlight the potential of game development as a tool for sustainability awareness and skills growth.

“The success of any program relies on the right blend of world-class curriculum, expert instructors, and exceptional talent," said Savvy Academy senior manager Guillaume Champavere in a post.

“So when HP proposed co-hosting a Game Jam as a selection process for our Incubator, we saw the perfect opportunity to spotlight Saudi Arabia's most promising and entrepreneurial gaming projects."
