Sky: Children of the Light surpasses 270m downloads ahead of sixth anniversary celebration

Thatgamecompany's Sky: Children of the Light has surpassed 270 million downloads across platforms since its launch in 2019.
To celebrate the milestone and also mark the title's sixth anniversary, Thatgamecompany is hosting the first-ever Sky Creator Awards - an interactive, in-game event celebrating the game's creator community.
Set to hold on August 15th at 6 pm PT in Sky’s virtual cinema, the live ceremony will honour outstanding user-generated content across ten categories, including the Sky Community Award and Content of the Year.
Developers will present the awards, and winners will be able to accept their trophies and speak to the live audience.
“More than a game"
Ahead of the Sky Creator Awards, Sky: Children of the Light will kick off its sixth anniversary celebration on July 7th with new in-game offerings.
“Sky was always meant to be more than a game; it’s a canvas for human connection and creativity,” said Thatgamecompany co-founder and creative director Jenova Chen.
“With the first-ever Sky Creator Awards, we’re celebrating the incredible ways our players have taken that vision and made it their own.
“Their art, their passion, their stories, they don’t just expand the world of Sky, they elevate it. This is our chance to honour the community that continues to inspire us every day.”
