Thatgamecompany and Coreblazer partner for online game jam

Journey developer Thatgamecompany has partnered with games investment brand Coreblazer to launch an online game jam. 

Submissions will open on May 17th, 2025, and close on June 8th. Voting will begin immediately after submissions close and run until July 4th. Winners will be announced on July 11th. 

Prizes include $4,000 for the best overall and $2,000 each for best visual design, best gameplay, and the community's voice award.

Aside from cash prizes, winning projects will be promoted on official channels, gain additional exposure through industry partners, and may be showcased at Coreblazer Game Fest 2025 in Shanghai.

First of many 

Submissions will be reviewed by teams from thatgamecompany and Coreblazer, along with a panel of industry experts such as Jenova Chen, Light Zhong, and Tracy Fullerton.

The developer said this will be its first-ever online game jam designed to “champion" creativity, bold ideas, and encourage emotional depth in games. 

“Developers of all levels are encouraged to create interactive experiences inspired by thatgamecompany’s philosophy of universal accessibility, emotional resonance, and cross-generational connection," said Thatgamecompany in a post.
