Disney+ has greenlit an anime adaptation of the hit mobile game Twisted-Wonderland as part of its expanding push into Japanese animation.
As reported by Variety, Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation follows Tokyo high schooler Yuken Enma, who is transported to Night Raven College, a magical academy themed around classic Disney villains.
Lacking magic, he teams up with students Ace and Deuce while seeking a way home, facing challenges from the fiery dorm leader Riddle Rosehearts.
Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on October 29th, 2025.
Blending multiple genres
Disney Twisted-Wonderland was first released in Japan in March 2020 and later distributed in North America by Aniplex of America, a subsidiary of Sony.
According to Appmagic data, the game has generated over $715 million in gross revenue and has surpassed over 6 million downloads across iOS and Android platforms.
The gameplay sees players progress through the completion of original Disney-inspired adventures, rhythmic challenges, and turn-based battles.
The title also blends anime, manga, and Disney all-in-one, with storytelling and art style led by Black Butler creator Yana Toboso.
