Saudi-based game developer Fahy Studios has raised $1.75 million in funding to fuel its mobile gaming ambitions.
Backed by investment firms Impact46 and Merak Capital, the studio said it will use the funds to expand its production capabilities and attract top talent to the Kingdom.
Fahy is focused on the hybrid casual genre, developing accessible games across a diverse pipeline and currently has three games under development.
The titles include RAWR, a monster-collecting RPG with battles and meta systems; Footy Traps, a competitive PvP football game driven by strategy; and Heist Party, a multiplayer heist experience.
Fahy’s $1.75m funding is part of Impact46’s $6.7m investment in five local studios through its SAR 150m ($40m) Gaming Fund launched in March 2024.
The studio is also one of the applicants that benefited from Exel by Merak's $5.1m investment awarded to 17 game startups during its first Demo Day.
Pushing boundaries
Founded in 2023 by Hani Hashem, Owis Alsaour, and Fahad Alshibl, Fahy quickly scaled from an indie team to a full-fledged studio through NEOM’s LevelUp accelerator.
It later expanded its reach with a publishing deal with Kwalee that brought expertise in user acquisition, monetisation, and global publishing.
“Today’s mobile gamers want more than fleeting experiences," said Fahy Studios CEO and co-founder Hani Hashem. “They seek games that are easy to pick up but offer meaningful progression. Our goal is to create games that are instantly fun yet endlessly rewarding.
“This investment fuels our mission to push the boundaries of mobile gaming, expand our production capabilities, and attract top talent to the Kingdom. We started with a love for gaming and a big dream- to build global hit games from Saudi Arabia, for the world.
“While our journey is still in its early stages, the backing from Impact46 and Merak Capital is yet another testament to Saudi’s growing ecosystem that is empowering us to compete on the world stage.”
