Saudi-based investment firm Impact46 has committed over 200 million riyals ($53m) to Baloot developer Kammelna.
Founded in Dammam, Kammelna is the studio behind the popular mobile adaptation of the Kingdom’s iconic card game Baloot.
The developer claims the title has surpassed 6m downloads with over 1m monthly active users to become Saudi Arabia’s largest independent gaming employer with a 40-person team spanning engineering, product, and art.
Kammelna said its Baloot tournaments have also attracted up to 150,000 participants.
A new chapter
The deal was announced at the New Global Sports Conference (NGSC25) during the Esports World Cup in Riyadh.
It is also part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 commitment to gaming and entertainment under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s National Gaming and Esports Strategy.
