TinyTap raises $5 million to fund accessible learning platform

Tel-Aviv-based educational company TinyTap has raised $5 million in funding to help boost its accessible learning platform of the same name.

The money raised in the Series A funding round will go towards launching newly curated learning plans in Mandarin, Arabic, and Spanish.

The newly found capital will also go towards promoting the company's partnership with Oxford University Press to start a learning plan for those learning English.

The funding round was led by Israeli venture fund Aleph with previous investors Radiant, Inimiti and ReInvent also chipping in.

The TinyTap platform is used by teachers to develop and sell educational games, digital books and interactive activities.

The TinyTap marketplace can be accessed by students through a monthly or yearly subscription and currently has over 150,000 items.

"TinyTap was created out of my own personal needs. I wanted to help my Dad, who was diagnosed with Dementia, hold on to his memories by turning his family photos into interactive, personalised activities,” said TinyTap CEO Yogev Shelly.

“We quickly realised that TinyTap could offer a personalised learning experience for everyone. As a marketplace, we're cutting out the dependency on a local education system. TinyTap gives parents the tools to teach their kids any subject at home."
