Whiteout Survival hits $3bn in player spending in under 2.5 years

Century Games’ 4X strategy flagship Whiteout Survival has surpassed $3 billion in gross player spending.
The major milestone has been achieved in less than 2.5 years, following the game’s global launch on iOS and Android on February 12th, 2023.
According to AppMagic data, the rate of player spending in this glacial survival game has scaled up considerably since launch - from $9.9m in its first full month, March 2023, to $91.3m in March 2024 and a record $205.9 million in March 2025. This latest figure marked an increase of 126% year-over-year.
Surviving and thriving
Since Whiteout Survival’s global release in 2023, the game has officially averaged two billion duels and nearly six million battles per day.
The US has accounted for its largest share of player spending at an estimated $870.3m, or 28% of total revenue, between the App Store and Google Play.
Whiteout Survival launched in China last year, with player spending in the country rocketing to $531.2m since May 2024, making it the second biggest contributor. China’s total spending accounts for 17% of global revenue, ahead of South Korea’s 13%.
The Chinese launch also partly explains Whiteout Survival’s ongoing rise, though the game had already managed a full year of consecutive monthly growth prior to the expansion. In fact, in 29 months since its global launch, monthly player spending has only fallen five times and has never dropped over two consecutive months.

Most recently, Whiteout Survival generated $182.4m in June 2025, which made it the second top grossing mobile game of the month behind Tencent’s Honor of Kings. So far it’s been in the top five every month this year.
This success has come at a time when the strategy genre has overtaken RPGs for player spending at $10.6bn versus $9.3bn over the first half of 2025. Meanwhile, 80% of the top strategy games are also leveraging web shops, according to Appcharge.
