Dunk City Dynasty’s first community competition features a $10,000 prize pool split between Southeast Asia and North America.

Developer NetEase has split the prize pool for this Community Bash evenly, with each region set to compete for a share of $5,000. This will be distributed across each region’s four top-ranking teams, with winners to receive the largest monetary sum at $2,300.

Second-place teams will earn $1,200, third-place teams will make $900, and fourth-place teams will get $600.

Aiming for the top

Following a registration period spanning June 9th to June 15th, eligible teams are competing to rank among the top 64 in either Southeast Asia or North America. Anyone with a server account from either region was able to register.

Now, those who reach the top 64 will qualify for the tournament and compete for prizes.

While only the top four teams from each region will receive monetary rewards, all qualifying teams ranked fifth through 64th will receive in-game items instead, including coins, diamonds and Superstar Vouchers.

This means that between regions, the top eight teams will earn monetary prizes and 120 will receive in-game rewards.

Registration for the Community Bash took place as Dunk City Dynasty’s first season came to an end. The officially licenced NBA title launched globally on May 22nd with the Playoff Showdown season, topping App Store charts in the US, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia and other Southeast Asian countries.

Today, June 18th, Playoff Showdown has been succeeded by the Summer Dynasty season with new content, events and sports stars added - namely Jayson Tatum, Joel Embiid and Kristaps Porzingis.

AppMagic estimates suggest Dunk City Dynasty generated $4.6 million between Google Play and the App Store over the course of its first season.
