Bandai Namco’s SD Gundam G Generation Eternal generated an average $20 per user through its Western campaign with games marketing agency The Game Marketer.

Bandai’s 2025 Gundam title landed among mobile’s most lucrative new releases last year. The studio partnered with The Game Marketer to lead its mobile campaign in the West.

According to official metrics, The Game Marketer has helped drive 13 million impressions and measurable revenue growth for SD Gundam G Generation Eternal in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.

Testing and scaling

The Game Marketer designed a user acquisition campaign meant to identify high-performing territories and maximise return on ad spend. Ultimately, a 50% return on ad spend was recorded within the first 14 days of the campaign.

To reach more Western players, The Game Marketer proposed a UA strategy built around platforms like Reddit, ironSource and Unity - highlighted for their strong reach and relevance in the target regions. Australia was used as the initial testing ground to evaluate behaviours and performance trends before scaling the campaign and ad spend to other Western regions.

Upon expanding, the US emerged as a "particularly high-performing region", helping to convert what began as a test into an ongoing mobile acquisition initiative.

Overall, the campaign has been said to demonstrate how a recognisable IP can be introduced to new regional audiences through platform testing, territory analysis and long-term monitoring. The title has targeted both established Gundam fans and strategy-focused mobile gamers.

SD Gundam G Generation Eternal’s success in Japan has also been clear, having been one of the biggest winners of Golden Week soon after its release.
