Game developer Super Banana has secured funding from Griffin Partners to develop casual puzzle games and expand its team.

The studio is prototyping its first games with a focus on sorting mechanics and hybrid IAP/IAA monetisation.

Super Banana was founded by industry veterans Danil Moskovoy and Nikolay Ternovoy, who have previous experience at companies like Zeptolab, Voodoo, and Playrix.

The developer is based in the UK, but is hiring for remote positions across Europe.

What works and what doesn't

“Casual puzzle games are full of white space if you know where to look,” said Super Banana CEO and co-founder Danil Moskovoy. “We’ve seen what works, and more importantly, we’ve seen what hasn’t.

“This studio is our chance to take that knowledge and go deeper – not just launching games, but scaling ones that can actually stick. We’ve launched and operated some of the biggest games out there and we can do it again, but better.”

Super Banana chief product officer and co-founder Nikolay Ternovoy commented: “With the best games, five-minute sessions turn into years of joy, so fun is our north star.

“We’re out to erase the trade-off between retention and monetisation, delivering scalable puzzle experiences players return to long after the trends move on.”
