Dubai to host first Middle East government pavilion at Gamescom 2025

The Dubai Program for Gaming 2033 will host the Middle East’s first government pavilion at Gamescom 2025 in Cologne, Germany, from August 20th to 24th.
As a form of marking a milestone for the region’s gaming sector, the DPG33 pavilion will spotlight Dubai’s goal of becoming a top 10 global games hub by 2033.
It will showcase the region's talent, facilities, and infrastructure for game creators, entrepreneurs, and production companies.
Representing the Dubai government at the Gamescom pavilion will be the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, and the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC).
Becoming a games hub
Launched in November 2023 under the patronage of Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, DPG33 aims to boost Dubai’s GDP by $1 billion and create 30,000 gaming jobs.
The program focuses on governance, talent development, global partnerships, industry support, and community engagement to build a vibrant ecosystem for game companies.
“The electronic gaming sector is a vital pillar of the creative economy," said the director-general of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority Hala Badri.
“This sector stands out as one of the fastest growing and most innovative within the broader cultural and creative industries, owing to its unique ability to attract skilled individuals and create new economic opportunities.
“Through a range of initiatives, Dubai Culture is committed to empowering young people and emerging talent to build their skills, expand their involvement in gaming, and discover new pathways in this dynamic field.
“Our efforts reflect the interests and ambitions of the new generation, advancing Dubai’s vision to be a leading global centre for innovation.”
