Savvy Games Group has penned a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Unity to create opportunities and benefits for game developers in Saudi Arabia.

The MoU grants qualifying Saudi game projects and developer teams free access to Unity’s services, including backend support, analytics, ads, player engagement, and multiplayer tools.

As part of the partnership, Savvy will promote Unity’s learning content in Saudi Arabia, giving local developers greater access to resources and training to better master the game engine from the start of their projects.

Continuous partnerships

Savvy said the MoU aligns with the kingdom's Vision 2030 and the National Gaming and Esports Strategy as it aims to drive organic growth in the KSA's game development ecosystem.

“This is a big deal for startups, small studios, and up-and-coming game developers in our fast-growing ecosystem here in Saudi Arabia," said Savvy Games Group SVP and head of international business development Nika Nour.

“Increased access to Unity’s industry-leading development platform will serve as a powerful catalyst that encourages, enables, and nurtures Saudi-based game developers and strengthens the regional gaming landscape. We are looking forward to working with Unity to bring this partnership to life.”

Savvy Games Group has been on something of an MoU partnership spree throughout the year, striking a series of deals aimed at strengthening Saudi Arabia’s games and esports ecosystem.

Earlier this year, the Steer Studios parent company signed an MoU with HP, partnered with creative specialist Territory Studio as it expands into the Middle East, inked another MoU with the Saudi Esports Federation and more recently welcomed game service firm Side to the region as well.
