A matter of weeks after Unity Technologies moved to a larger UK base in Brighton, the firm has announced it has established a new office in the Swedish capital Stockholm.
Unity says the office will serve as a local development hub as the company looks to expand the number of top titles employing its development engine.
Headed up by software engineer Erik Hemming and technical artist Erland Körner, Unity VP of enginering Steffen Toksvig said the opening of the office is an important step in the company's continued growth.
Sweet as a swede
"We are pleased to continue Unity Technologies' growth with the opening of the Stockholm office in what is one of the centres of game development talent," added Toksvig.
"We are building a small office of a handful of really experienced people that can complement the awesomeness of Erik and Erland."
Hemming has previously worked with the likes of EA, DICE and Avalanche on franchises including Battlefield and Just Cause, while Körner has been involved with big EA series like Need for Speed and Mirrors Edge.
Toksvig concluded, "I see this as a logical continuation of our effort to push the quality of Unity, by giving the work of the world's best game developers to the Unity community."
In addition, US mobile social publisher ngmoco recently announced a new Stockholm office, headed by Ben Cousins, another ex-DICE luminary.
Unity is now actively recruiting talented staff to join its Stockholm office. Those interested should visit: http://unity3d.com/company/jobs/.
