Stream Media launches free Android game discovery platform Applorer
Discoverability is cited as one of the main challenges developers face when pushing content through iOS, and with the Android Market growing fast, the problem is becoming ever more prevalent.

Applorer is a new app discovery platform that's been launched on the Android Market to help developers get their apps seen and to help gamers get their fingers on significant new content.

Based around recommendation of free games, it also has its own currency and supports various payment schemes to push paid content.

In order to hook into this, users have to register, unlocking an addition service labelled as Applorer Gamebox

Stream Media is the Singapore-based new media firm behind the app, which is powered by a group of games testers tasked with finding the best content.

It lists EA Mobile as one of its partners, and ran a pre-Christmas competition for Plants vs Zombies figures and other branded items.

"Our system finds the newest additions to Android Market and our editors test out all the games daily before selecting it to be featured on Applorer Gamebox," Stream Media's explains.

"New games are added everyday so that users can always find something they have not played before."

The app features a MoVend in-app purchasing scheme (also part of Stream Media), meaning that you can buy premium content via methods such as PayPal, MOLPoints and Cherry Credits, with SMS Billing and Google Checkout compatibility expected soon.

For more information on Applorer, or to submit your app for reviewing, visit the Applorer website or via the Android Market [link].
