Atari has unveiled the hire of former Glu Mobile CCO Giancarlo Mori as the firm's new EVP of product development.

With a mandate to drive the publisher's mobile strategy forward, Atari's new man comes to the firm with 20 years of industry experience under his belt.

Mori has previously held roles at the likes of Activision, EA and Microsoft, amongst others.

Stuck like Glu

"Giancarlo understands the complex nature of the evolving game industry, attained from nearly two decades of work for major interactive entertainment brands," said Atari CEO Jim Wilson.

"Additionally, his creative skills in mobile game development has proven incredibly valuable based on his most recent successes with Glu.

"The Atari brand has an opportunity to become a dominant brand in mobile gaming based on the strength of our IP catalogue, and Giancarlo will be a key contributor to helping us realise this goal."

Atari claims Mori will "drive the company’s mobile monetisation, development and distribution strategy", while also expanding internal development at the publisher to deliver a wider portfolio of games.
