Disney Interactive revenues up 13 per cent in Q4
Disney (NYSE: DIS) has announced that its Interactive Media division, which includes its mobile content business, posted revenues of $313 million in Q4 2008.

That's up 13 per cent year-on-year, although the division reported an operating loss of $45 million, compared to an operating income of $13 million in Q4 2007.

The company says the loss was due to increased costs and marketing expenses at its Disney Interactive Studios segment of its Interactive Media division - the one responsible for console games.

However, in the ensuing conference call, Disney boss Bob Iger said that the mobile content arm within Interactive Media is closer to profitability.

Disney doesn't break out specific mobile games revenues, but has been an active publisher in the industry, both with Disney-branded mobile games, and publishing original titles like Critter Crunch and Townsmen 5.
