7 million attempts to download Flash to iPhone per month

There's been plenty of hot air projected about Apple's refusal to enable Flash for iPhone and iPod touch - an attitude most visibility demonstrated with the non-install Flash plug-in logo witnessed during the iPad launch event.

Adobe's attitude seem to be somewhere between annoyed and bemused at the situation, although the technology's adoption on most other new smartphones means it doesn't have to worry too much concerning Apple's intransigence on the subject.

And according to San Francisco Chronicles' The Tech Chronicles, there's plenty of demand for Flash in iPhone.

During December 2009, apparently there were 7 million attempts to download Flash onto iPhone and iPod touches. This is up from three million attempts in June.

The numbers were measured by users coming and failing to install Flash at Adobe.com.
