With Game Center having made its mark on iOS, OpenFeint one of the largest game networks on Apple's platform has today launched on rival Android, bringing 20 games to the fold over the course of the next month.
The online gaming network has also brought its Spotlight app across to the platform, allowing Android gamers to discover titles that support OpenFeint with ease.
"Android users deserve great games but havent had access to enough of them," said Aurora Feint CEO Jason Citron.
"That changes today. Hundreds of thousands of people activate Android phones every day, and there is a clear need for high quality games in the marketplace.
"The major wireless carriers are partnering with us to select the best games from iOS - like Fruit Ninja - to bring to Android."

Indeed, six top 10 iOS releases including ustwo's dot, Supermono's MiniSquadron, Sandlot's Super Slyder, DistinctDev's The Moron Test and Tic Tac Toe by Posimotion are OpenFeint enabled on Android from day one.
The platform will also allow iOS and Android players to compete against each other on leaderboards and via OpenFeint's achievements system.
Cross platform game invites are also expected in the near future.
Getting in on the Android act
"Android is on track to become an incredible force as one of the largest mobile platforms in the world," added Aurora Feint chairman Peter Relan.
"Developers will need to unlock this gigantic market to maximise revenue potential for their mobile games. With the help of our wireless carrier partners, we've created multiple viral and editorial channels to help our developers drive revenue."
OpenFeint has enjoyed considerbale success on iOS, sporting 37 million players and 3,000 games.
Developers looking to add OpenFeint support to their titles on either iOS or Android can pick up its free, open source SDK from the company's website.
