Veteran cuts out the Mumbo Jumbo

Mike Breslin named as Glu's new marketing veep
Glu Mobile's attempts to restructure its business have dominated its activity over the last two years.

2009's extensive restructuring has been followed up by both appointments and departures over the course of 2010 – Niccolo De Masi's naming as both CEO and president back at the start of the year the most notable.

Today sees the appointment of yet another newcomer, with Mike Breslin – most recently of casual publisher Mumbo Jumbo – taking up the role of VP of marketing at the firm.

Breslin will take charge of Glu's global marketing strategy, as well as handling product management and marketing communications.

The deal is on

Breslin, who only took up his last job at Mumbo Jumbo back in March, has previously held positions at some of the industry's biggest names, having worked for I-play/Oberon Media, Ion Storm and Disney Interactive over the course of the last 15 years.

His work at I-play saw him take charge of global marketing for the likes of Jewel Quest, Bubble Town, and I-play Bowling, as well as high profile licenses such as 24, Deal or No Deal and The Fast & Furious.

One of Breslin's priorities in his new position will be pushing Glu's output on smartphone platforms, with the publisher having temporarily slashed the prices of its entire range across Android, iPhone, iPad and Palm back at the start of last month.
