The times they are certainly a-changing at Nokia.
Following on from the announcement of Stephen Elop as the company's first non-Finnish president and CEO, replacing 30 year veteran Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, comes news that another long term Finnish executive is leaving.
Anssi Vanjoki, who only took over as head of Nokia's Mobile Solutions unit in July, and is a member of Nokia group executive board, has suddenly handed in his notice.
Revolutionary
"I felt the time has come to seek new opportunities in my life," he said in a brief statement.
"At the same time, I am one hundred per cent committed to doing my best for Nokia until my very last working day. I am also really looking forward to this year's Nokia World and sharing news about exciting new devices and solutions."
He will work out a six month notice period and continue his current tasks, including appearing at Nokia World 2010, starting tomorrow.
Vanjoki has been one of the company's more outspoken executives over the years, most recently dismissing Android as possibility for the world's biggest phone maker, instead committing its future to Symbian and MeeGo.
Now however speculation concerns around just revolutionary Stephen Elop's appointment could for Nokia as it tries to compete with Apple and grapples with making an impact in the North American phone market where Android is the fastest growing mobile OS.
