Nokia can hint at a 2010 debut for MeeGo but it seems Intel has a different view.
According to a report by Forbes, general manager of Intel's software division, Doug Fisher has confirmed MeeGo's debut on handsets won't come until the first half of 2011.
The intel on IntelNoting that other MeeGo devices will launch in 2010 netbooks and internet connected TVs already confirmed Fisher said the plan is to debut MeeGo phones at a trade show early 2011, Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February presumably the target.
"We are very pleased with MeeGo's progress so far," said Fisher, adding that the platform has been keeping schedule to date albeit a schedule that results in a full release in 2011, rather than 2010.
However, more noteworthy is the suggestion that Nokia and Intel are already working on official MeeGo tablets, due to launch at an unspecified date after the phones.
Fisher also suggested that Intel is in talks with another OEM to work on MeeGo phones, other than Nokia.
