GREE: iPhone 5 doesn't need to be revolutionary to be a best seller
It's not just developers that rely on iPhone: social gaming platforms such as GREE have also placed iOS at the heart of their operations.

According to GREE UK Studio director Shinsuke Mori, nothing at Apple's iPhone 5 unveiling suggests the firm has anything to worry about on that score.

Surprises may have been few and far between during the iPhone 5 presser, but GREE believes Apple still has the tools in its arsenal to dominate.

We caught up with Mori for an insight into just what the Japanese giant made of Apple's next big thing.

Pocket Gamer: Broadly speaking, what did you make of Apple's iPhone unveiling?

Shinsuke Mori: It is impossible to ignore such an announcement!

The whole world was waiting to know what would be announced by Apple and so were we, hooked on Twitter and specialist sites, gathering as many details as possible.

And yes, once again we've been pretty excited with what was announced and the perspectives it offers to the social mobile games.

What features do you imagine will excite GREE developers the most about the new iPhone?

I think there isn't one specific feature that will excite developers, but rather the whole phone itself.

Bigger screen, a faster connectivity and a more powerful phone are obviously keys to develop more quality games. But there is also another element I like: the battery!

It's very important to let people play without thinking that later they won't have enough to make some calls or browse the Internet.

Is there anything missing from the device?

When Apple presents a new device expectations are always very high.

We always want better screens, more power and plenty of new features, but there is nothing specifically that I feel is missing in iPhone 5 for games.

What kind of impact do you think it will have on the market. Is this a guaranteed best seller?

Each time Apple has released a new machine it has been an amazing success and most of the time it gives a new direction to the mobile market.

I can hardly see it being different this time.

Of course, iPhone 5 is not a revolution, but it has everything we currently need in a smartphone, including Apple's touch! There is no doubt it will be a best seller.
