Android continues to hold its majority share of the smartphone market in the US.
It accounts for 50 percent the 101.3 million smartphone subscribers in the region according to market intelligence firm comScore.
According to figures for February, Android saw a 3.2 percent rise over a three month period.
That's more than double the rise of Apple, which remains in second place, with 30.2 percent of the market share.
Top dog
In the past three months, both RIM and Microsoft have seen declining shares down by 3.2 and 1.3 percent in the region respectively.
Symbian clung onto its 1.5 percent.
Can't be moved
Also refusing to budge is Samsung which ranked highest among the OEM accounting for a quarter of the market share with 25.6 percent.
Apple meanwhile saw a 2.3 percent rise to 13.5 percent of the market share topping Motorola which fell to 12.8 percent.
Does it make calls?
ComScore's results also found a rise in smartphone users using their devices to download apps and browse the net - both accounting for almost 50 percent for smarthphone usage.
The amount of smartphone users playing games on their devices rose 2.6 percent since November 2011.
The majority of users use their smartphones for sending text messages.
