The Zune HD launch was a fairly muted affair, although probably comparable to the iPod touch when it launched prior to the App Store revolution. Since then, things have gone rather quiet on the Zune HD front, though Redmondpie reports that it could be the lull before the storm now the 4.3 update is being rolled out.
This latest firmware adds a host of new features to the Zune HD, including a browser update, landscape keyboard, spell checker/word suggester and, most importantly, support for 3D games and applications.
The Zune HD launched with a handful of more basic, casual games to give multimedia users a little more to do with their new hardware, and although developer Babaroga told Pocket Gamer it was working on a 3D game to rival anything seen on the iPhone, nothing has yet emerged.
The rumours go one step further, suggesting that the November 17th Xbox 360 update could kick start the Zune revolution by adding the service to Xbox Live, and launch the advanced games and applications for the Zune HD device.
