Even on the App Store, people will pay for high quality content as long as they really want it; that's Activision's thinking.
Having released one of 2009's most significant games in the form of top grossing #1 Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies (price $9.99), the first update for the game will see a new map appearing as an in-app purchase.
The Verruckt map pack is expected on February 12th, at a cost of $4.99, 3.99 or £2.99, bringing the total price of the game to $14.98, 11.98 or £8.98.
Further to this, the publisher briefly touched on its plans for the platform during its earnings call with analysts.
It revealed that the lite version of the game had been downloaded more than 1 million times within the first seven days.
"It's an excellent way to gain awareness and drive the purchase of full price content," said a spokesman, adding that the publisher would continue to advance its position in the emerging space, particularly "focusing on creative margin opportunity in terms downloadable content".
We'd also be surprised if the likes of Tony Hawk, Spider-Man, and James Bond don't also make their way onto the App Store.
