It's not but maybe Nostradamus should be my middle name.
After pontificating that the rise of HTML5-coded games would undermine the power of the App Store by enabling developers to distribute their games as web apps, that's exactly what Italian app distributor DS Effects has done.
It claims its white label DS Catalogue is the world's first HTML5 portal for iPhone and Android.
Direct to play
A fully customisable solution for carriers and publishers, it's already live for iPhone, offering 85 simple games, nine apps and a bunch of virtual pet games for free.
You can add an shortcut icon for each to your iDevice's homescreen to gain easy access to the content.
DS Effects says it has a total of 150 games and apps available, together with various business models.
The iPhone version is available at www.dseffects.com/iphone.php, while the Android site is expected to go live during the next couple of weeks.
