Ad exchange network Mobclix reports iPad is proving to be a profitable force in the mobile advertising set-up, with ads on the platform enjoying an average eCPM rate five times that of iPhone.
Mobclix has made the claim as part of a new monthly initiative to deliver key stats based on its operations on iPhone, iPad, Windows Phone 7 an Android in graphical form.
The first such infographics report as revealed by TechCrunch - focuses on iPad, with Mobclix's data suggesting there are now almost 285,000 iPhone apps compatible with iPad currently on the App Store - equal to around 96.5 percent.
In total, games now have a 20 percent market share on iPad, according to the latest numbers.
Mobclix also claims users spend around three times as much time playing the same games on iPad as their iPhone counterparts roughly equal to an additional 10 minutes on each title.
Earning from ads
In relation to advertising on the platform, Mobclix's numbers suggest click-through rates on iPad apps are almost 11 times higher for rich media ads than they are standard promos.
In fact, Mobclix attests that, when combined with the higher eCPM, developers generally stand to earn far more from advertising on iPad than they currently do on iPhone.
